Brit and the Boys

Weekend and more!

We ended last week in another "crisis". Brady was sick as a dog and they doctor diagnosed him originally with a "cold".... I knew it wasn't a cold from the beginning, but love and trust our pediatrician. Maybe it was a cold but certainly turned into more that made for tough Wed/Thurs nights and a day at home for me on Friday. He ended up with some sort of bacterial infection in his throat and a double ear infection. The doc prescribed him Omnicef and we got home and I gave him the first dose and then had him lay on the couch. I did a few things and then noticed he had HIVES! All over his sweet face and neck, including his eye lids! It was scary, but luckily through Trey's food allergies I knew just what to do! The benedryl worked pretty quickly and the doctor called in a new antibiotic. I was supposed to see Randy Rogers Friday night with Jules and Stef and the boys were going to stay the night with my dad for the first time in a while, but that quickly got cancelled when Roo got so sick. All day I had thoughts of how blessed I am to have the delima of work/kids, as a single mom. It is so hard sometimes to work AND be a single mom of two rambuncious sweet boys. BUT I am so extremely lucky to have both. Brady is doing much better and has gotten lots of rest this weekend.. including tonight when he fell asleep with his dinner on his lap! I will post that picture soon!

Highlights to the weekend - there were many:

I got to pick up Trey at 3 on Friday, since I was on sick day with Roo- I am usually picking him up in after care, so this was a treat for both he and I :)
Friday night- pizza and ice cream night with my grandparents. Nanny made homeade pizza, we had blue bell ice cream, and watched Harry Potter until we all fell asleep in the living room!
Saturday morning the weather was AWESOME so we got coffee and donuts and went to the park
Saturday afternoon Papa watched the boys while Nanny and I went to the hospital to see my cousin who is having problems with her pregnancy. She has 3 weeks to go and a kidney stone, she is in a lot of pain! (prayers please!)
We got home from the hospital and they were asleep.. all three of them :)
Saturday night the boys and I watched the Sandlot and snuggled.. I wonder who fell asleep first? I am not sure so it could have been ME!
My dad paid us an early morning visit and brought the boys a new Wii game. Since they don't play very often they were super excited.. before today we had 2 games :) I was SO happy to see dad that early in the morning!
Church. I love the people I serve with at FC kids. Service was amazing, and SoLo (singles ministry) was great too! I was glad Brady was feeling better today and we could go!

There are some great things to look forward to this week. Trey will have his first batch of homework this week, soccer starts for both boys, and my good friend Kim is turning 30!

More about Trey's first week of school later! How was your weekend?
