As any other mom knows, school is getting ready to start, and something about this time of the year makes me so excited and so busy I can hardly stand it! I start making lists of things I need to do, then misplace my list, so make another and so on and so fourth. I cross things off sometimes daily... and sometimes go days without crossing a single thing off! I made this list about a week ago and things are so slowly coming off of this list it's killing me! I have been reading the book by Christine Caine, "Can I have and do it all, Please". This is perfect for me since I seem to think it is within my reach to be a mom, with a full time job, a bible study leader, a PTA board member, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a full time taxi service to whatever sport we are playing, and I feel like this list could go on forever, ... Christine Caine says " we've set out on this mission to do it "all" only to quickly discover that in order to achieve it, we conservatively need an extra 24 hours in every day. This leaves many women disappointed, discouraged, exhausted, defeated, anxious, and stressed. The truth is you CAN have it all, and you CAN do it all.. but often it's an incorrect perception of what the "all" is that can leave us feeling like we fall short. We need to fulfill the purpose God has four our lives and discover what His definition of the "all" is, and go after that. "
In Matthew 6:33 Jesus says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you"
This verse says to me, seek first God- Start my day of with Prayer and His word, and he will make time for the "all" in my list. THAT makes me EXCITED for the list, rather than dreading it!
"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."
Robert Louis Stevenson
